This is an extra large 300mm x 60mm x 20mm single sided leather bench strop made from European Beech and vegetable tanned premium bovine leather. The beech is sealed with shellac and a Stroppy Stuff logo is branded into the back.
The leather is trimmed all the way flush to the wood backing, unlike most strops where they purposefully undersized the leather. The edges of the leather are carefully beveled to stop the leather from deforming or fraying, however the beveling is very slight, to allow you to strop all the way up to a plunge line.
This leather is vegetable tanned bovine. It's very high quality leather and I hand pick pieces to ensure they're as free of defects as possible for an organic material. There will however be some minor differences in the leather such as small marks or creases.

Flesh side English Bridle Shoulder
The Flesh Side English Bridle Leather we offer has undergone a meticulous process of being sanded flat and buffed to a very smooth finish. This is nothing like the suede strops you've tried before. This treatment makes it significantly more consistent than a traditional suede strop, offering a uniform stropping surface.
Note: This leather is also not soft or easily compressible. It's very stiff and will resist deformation while stropping.
