Handmade basswood strop (6"x1")
UK handmade by me (Max), this is a single-sided basswood strop mounted to a tumbled aluminium backing and lapped flat before it leaves the workshop.
Basswood is chosen for its consistency and durability over traditional strop materials. It provides a firm, even surface that carries diamond compounds well and gives clear feedback during use—ideal for controlled, repeatable stropping.
Each strop is individually lapped to a high level of flatness, so it arrives ready to use.
Maintenance
Like all wood products, basswood can move slightly with humidity and use.
If needed, restore flatness by lapping on 600 grit sandpaper.
