This is a UK hand made single sided basswood strop which has been lapped flat on a tumbled aluminium backing.
Our basswood is chosen for its consistency and durability over conventional strop materials, is carefully lapped to a high level of flatness, ensuring it arrives in optimal condition for immediate use. This is an ideal medium for use with diamond compounds, it carries the abrasives well and provides a high level of feedback.
Basswood may require some maintenance as it's exposed to different humidity levels and use. To maintain flatness simply lap it on 600 grit sandpaper.
The basswood surface is 152mm x 25mm x 3mm. There will be some variation in thickness as some pieces will have required more lapping than others.
The aluminium backing is 160mm x 25mm x 3mm.
